Models: Kaskazi Duo
Also available in 2 Sit-on-top versions - the AR and ARX, as a
2-piece sea kayak, and in Epoxy and Carbon/Kevlar

A Mid volume double sea kayak -
suitable for everything from day trips to extended open ocean expeditions. Handles well in
rough conditions, while still being fast on the flat water. Very stable without being
excessively wide, carries loads of gear without being bogged down, and still manages to be
fun in the surf. Wide and slightly rounded mid section for stability and fine bow for wave
cutting, and fine stern section for improved water flow aft. Low deck for reduced windage.
Comfortable cruising speed of over 9 km/h, and capable of over 12 km/h. Predictable
handling in all conditions translates into a kayak novices appreciate and experienced
kayakers enjoy.
Carbon / Kevlar Option
When you take the technology developed for the extremes of powerboat and yacht
racing and apply it to the construction of a kayak, you can be assured of extreme
stiffness in the hull, incredible impact resistance and durability.
While the increased performance in terms of straightline top
speed on flat water will only be marginal, the real performance increase will be in
acceleration, quicker turning ability, immediate reactions to body input, and ability to
catch and run swells. The lively feel of a truly lightweight and stiff kayak is difficult
to explain - you have to experience it.
Kaskazi Duo AR & ARX
Double sit-on-top kayak
Sit-on-top
versions of the proven Kaskazi Duo. All that changes is the seating arrangement from
sit-in-to a comfortable sit-on-top. The rest of the kayak stays identical except for a
slightly higher bow and the addition of 2 small centre hatches. Touring sized hatches of
the Duo and a retractable rudder are standard items, as is the renowned performance of the
Duo. The deep sit-on-top seat has adequate lateral support for effective bracing, while
the adjustable pedals cater for all paddlers. The optional detachable deck and spraycover
quickly transfers this sit-on-top into a kayak into a fully decked kayak.
The ARX models have everything as standard (drainage,
bulkheads, extra deck rigging, detachable deck), while the basic AR model is ideal for
adventure racing and training.
Weight: from 32 -35 kg
Kaskazi Duo - 2-piece kayak
We separate the kayak at the center bulkhead to give you two sections of the kayak that
are easier to transport and store. To join the kayak two strengthened interlocking
bulkheads are bolted together.
Once bolted together you have a very standard looking Kaskazi Duo with a faint line
running around the middle of the kayak. The kayak will be approximately 2 kg heavier and
even stronger than the original Duo due to the extra strength bulkheads.
